| 'Burg Run Nets Over $3,500 for LEAF |
| Thanks for Joining in the 12th Annual 'Burg Trail Run! |
| The Laingsburg Educational Advancement Foundation hosted their 12th Annual ‘Burg (Trail) Run on Sunday November 13th at the Laingsburg High School cross country course. 135 participants took part in the 5k R/W and 10k Run with the 1 Mile “Hike-4-Health” adding several others to the fun. All participants were treated to refreshments after the event, and be sure to look for the woolly mammoth shirts walking around town that each participant received with their registration. Next year’s all new logo is already in the works and may be the best yet!
Janice Little (Ft. Pierce, FL 48:35) and Eric Stuber (Lansing 36:00) took top female/male honors in the 10k Run. Meg Darmofal (Laingsburg 19:46) and Jeremy Doody (Laingsburg 18:09) ruled the 5k Run. Judy Bolles (Bath 42:36) took the 5k walk title in the Women’s Open division and Clio’s Johnny Olsey took first in the 5k Walk Men’s Open division champion (31:01). All six champions received a customized medal as well as $25 Playmakers gift certificates provided by LEAF.

LEAF recognized three additional winners in each event. Master (lowest time age 40 or older), Grandmaster (lowest time age 50 or older) and Senior (lowest time age 60 or older). We also added a dozen age groups to recognize more of the participants across the board. The Hike-4-Health, which consists of four laps around the recently new high school track, was dominated by Brady Hawks, who finished first (8:31), followed by Dawson and Sawyer Shastal. Hannah Coss (13:17) was the first place girl finisher. Other finishers included Ethan Mandeville, Lucas Shastal, Sean Divine, and Deb McKenzie-Divine. LEAF would like to thank all the participants and fans who braved brisk winds and surprisingly warm temperatures, and Mother Nature for keeping it dry! A BIG thank you also is extended to the great group of volunteers and Laingsburg High School NHS students who helped make the event possible and one of the most organized and efficient in the area.
LEAF also extends sincere appreciation for the generous support of the following corporate sponsors who again stepped up to the plate and helped the ‘Burg Run attain profitability for the 12th straight year: Equanimity Wealth Management (Formerly Trebilcock & Danek Financial LLC), Field Pharmacy, Jose “Pokey” Brown of Cline, Cline & Griffin, McPhail Insurance Agency, Inc., Playmakers, Progressive Periodontics PC, Rathbun Public Relations, Signature Auto Group, Slick Shirts, Tyler Heating and Cooling, and Vogl & Meder PLLC, Certified Public Accountants.
